Paul Rich's intense and prolific career has already proved his popularity on stage and recognition as a producer. Many of his EPs have been released on different labels such as Get Physical Music (Fortuna, June), Fumakilla (Back to the Time), Paradigma Musik (Higher) and MiniSketch (Nordbanhof). In 2007, his tracks were also included in nine internationally prominent Mix Albums such as John Digweed's Transitions, Vol. 3, Gui Boratto's Addicted, Vol. 2, Global Underground: Rio from Layo & Bushwacka! and M.A.N.D.Y's Ibiza '07.
Paul is charectarised by an unrestricted capacity to produce. Under the name of Hadycraft in 2007 he also published (in collaboration with Okain) Le Bal Masqué 12" EP on the label Kickboxer.
2008 has been a year to reap the rewards of his hard work and he has played in iconic festivals and clubs around the globe such as VMC (Miami), DEMF (Detroit), The End (London), Goa (Madrid), Amore Festival (Rome), Berghain (Berlin), The Pressure, (Glasgow) amongst many others.
The launch of his very own label QUARTZ REC in October 2008 has been accompanied by a world-wide Tour which has already seen Paul play in Glasgow, Berlin and for the very first time, in Australia's main cities, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Paul will see out 2008 with a South American tour where he will play in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay.
QUARTZ REC, Paul's newest initiative, will be dominated by minimalists sounds, intense, deep and active, a vibe that characterises him.

El label nacional Insert Coin –que comanda diestramente Sergio Fernández- sigue apostando por el producto nacional tech-houssie de alto octanaje y gran eficacia en pista, a través de las manos -que son cuatro- de Kodiak. Tras este atractivo y futurista nombre se parapetan los djs y productores mallorquines Iban Reus y Rad Ramon, famosos en el mundillo clubbing por esas vibrantes, fascinantes y bailonas sesiones estivales que desarrollan en Space Ibiza desde hace años para disfrute de todos.

En este EP digital, que supone la referencia 25 para Insert Coin, nos presentan un tema llamado “Space Expediton” que hace honores a su propio nombre. Estamos ante un enérgico viaje espacial y sonoro, que hace paradas en diferentes estilos electrónicos –house, techno, funky, progresive, electro- en busca de un claro destino final: hacer bailar a propios y extraños. A través de una percusión claramente club, un bassline permanente y adictivo, directo a la yugular y altamente groove, muy actual pero sin hacer ascos al old-school, nos acompaña en todo instante. A él se le van sumando voces loopeadas, pianos sintéticos, sintes electros y toda una galería de elementos que aupan a “Space Expedition” a espacios reservados en la madrugada para los hits incontestables y más ansiados en las maletas de los selectores sonoros de alta enjundia. Space, space, space!


La revisión deep del tema original le resta pegada, lo aterciopela, aparentemente le quita peligro y se lo lleva a estancias mucho más elegantes, cadenciosas y seguramente vespertinas. Sin negar la idea prístina que origina “Space Expedition” Kodiak lo adaptan a otro tipo de apetencias electrónicas, posiblemente más sofisticadas y exigentes a la hora de traducirse en baile. Aquí lo vocal tiene mucha más presencia y una punzante melodía tech, que surge como por arte de magia, y viene a marcar el desarrollo de esta versión deepera del track. Notable resultado, sin duda.

El EP se cierra con la versión “Happy mix” del tema seminal en la que Kodiak ponen toda la sustancia sonora en el asador, desde el primer beat, para lograr un efecto demoledor en cuanto a movimiento y conmoción en el dancefloor. El sexy tech-house del tema original va acogiendo, sin colisión, elementos progresivos y pisteros que lo aceleran, lo afinan y en definitiva, lo convierten en una arma de baile masivo para cualquier pista, y cabina, que se precie. El desarrollo del tema es simplemente apabullante, como mandan los cánones los breaks están perfectamente ubicados y todo ello consigue crear un ambiente de euforia club difícil de concebir. Si no bailas este ICRO25 de Kodiak es que estás muerto, camarada.
